Jan 27, 2025 || Rangamati, Bangladesh — In a significant stride toward building climate resilience in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the Jhum Revolution Campaign successfully hosted a seminar titled “Climate Change Literacy, Sustainable Agricultural Practices, and Promoting 3D Educational Tools to Enhance Climate Resilience” at Monoghor Residential School and College, Rangapani, Rangamati.
The event, held as part of the broader Jhum Revolution initiative, brought together educators, environmental experts, and community leaders to foster awareness and action around climate change, traditional knowledge systems, and innovative educational tools.

The keynote address was delivered by Sunanda Dewaan, Project Coordinator of the Jhum Revolution Campaign. In his address, he emphasized the urgent need for localized climate education and highlighted how 3D educational tools can bridge the gap between traditional ecological knowledge and modern learning methods. He also stressed the importance of preserving and promoting sustainable agricultural practices, particularly Jhum cultivation, as a culturally rooted and environmentally sound system.
The seminar focused on three core themes:
Climate change literacy to empower informed decision-making among students and community members
Building local resilience through the integration of education, culture, and climate-responsive practices
Reviving sustainable indigenous agriculture, ensuring food security and ecological balance
The event encouraged lively participation from students and community stakeholders, all of whom shared a deep connection with the region’s environmental challenges and opportunities.
