AI Making Ransomware Easier, More Prevalent, Committee Hears 

This article talks about how easy AI(Artificial Intelligence) is making cybercrimes for criminals. They are using AI to carry out cyberattacks, identity theft, and ransomware attacks among other things. "According to crypto-tracking firm Chainalysis, ransomers stole more than $1 billion from U.S. organizations in 2023". Although AI is being used in a negative light it can be used to combat AI crimes in a reverse manner.

Hackers Linked to Russia’s Military Claim Credit for Sabotaging US Water Utilities 

This article talks about a Russia based hacker group known as "The Cyber Army of Russia", has taken claim for attacks directly targeting the digital systems of a hydroelectric dam in France and water utilities in the United States and Poland. Their goal was to cause damage to the countries infastructure. A report published today by cybersecurity firm Mandiant lays claim that "Sandworm" a russian military central intelligence cyber force helped The Cyber Army of Russia carry out the attacks. That or The Cyber Army of Russia is just a cover for Sandworm itself. Sandworm has been know to do such things in the past.
