The cemetery was founded at the beginning of the 18th century when a larger settlement of Jews in Darda began.

The Jewish cemetery is neglected today, but the names and surnames of the people who lived in the Darda area can still be revealed, as well as some basic information. The Kohn, Lobl, Rosenbaum, Goldstein, Frank, Lederer, Reichmann, Berger, Gruber, Shon, Bock families are mentioned in this cemetery.
There is also a trading family of Simona Werthajmer in this cemetery, whose son Slavko is a well-known Osijek doctor specializing in orthopedics. The monuments are made of polished, shiny black marble or several types of different stone. A professor of history and archeology Davorin Taslidžić told us that these were respectable families who were engaged in crafts and trade and that the last deceased was buried before the beginning of World War II.
