The English teacher/staff must be involved in deciding which pupils will benefit from the reading room (כיתת הקראה)
The teacher who is going to read the exam MUST practice reading an exam with the pupils.
There should be a maximum of 20 students in a separate room for hakra’ah. The teacher (must be an English teacher) reads out to groups of five students at a time. (There can be up to four teachers in the reading room).
The MOE sends invigilators for the reading room.
The English teacher reads out the text and questions twice to a student or a group of students.
The students then answer the questions.

The students may ask the teacher to read out parts of the text if necessary.
The students may NOT use a dictionary including an electronic dictionary.
The teacher may give an additional 15 minutes if requested to all students, whether they are “kita mut’emet” or home room.
