I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

And he said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near. John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood ...

In the context of Jeremiah, the everlasting love God is talking about is in relationship to Israel. What is fascinating about this statement is they were not loving and committed to God in the same way he was loving and committed to them. It would be logical and sensible if God were loving a people who were loving him back with the same type of love, but overall, this was not the case with Israel. He was more like a scorned lover because they rejected his commands and did whatever they wanted. However, despite this, as we see in this verse, it was out of his everlasting love and his kindness that he drew them back to him.

Why is it so important to understand what it means that God loves you with an everlasting love? If you do not grasp this truth and allow it to be the foundation of your relationship with God, then what will your relationship be based on? If your walk with Jesus is not founded and rooted in his love for you, then all you are left with is striving to impress God and win his approval.

Thankfully, our relationship with him is not based on winning his approval, but on receiving his love. When you approach God, you are not coming to a God who hates you or wants nothing to do with you. You are coming to a God who is always reaching, ready to correct, ready to forgive, and able to restore. His arms are open wanting to embrace you, not because you deserve it, but because he loves you with an everlasting love.

I challenge you today to stop striving, and receive this love and watch as his love and kindness begin a transformation process in your heart. When you fully engage with his everlasting love, you will never be the same again.

And here in their ugliest moment when they are utterly indifferent to His coming suffering, when whatever the indications of His own sorrow were as He gathered with them in intimate fellowship for hours that night, they never picked up anything. This was when they were the ugliest of all. And it says He loved them eis telos. Who is it that He loved? His own who were in the world, eis telos.

Father, we thank You for our time tonight to consider Your great love, Your everlasting love. It is mystery; we understand that. We cannot unscrew the inscrutable. We cannot fathom the depths. We are pots, You are the potter. Your glory is everything. Glorify Yourself, Father, as You choose to do. Put Your great majesty in all its fullness on display for all the holy angels and the redeemed saints to see both now and forever. Amen.

It is of the Lord's sovereignty that the Song of Songs is included in the Scriptures. However, some so-called Christians disagree with the inclusion of Song of Songs in the Bible, viewing it as a secular book, not as a sacred one. But in fact Song of Songs is the most sacred of books. In this book the seeker says, "I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine" (6:3). If we did not have Song of Songs, we probably could not have such an expression regarding our relationship with the Lord. The hymn "Loved with everlasting love" has a line in the chorus which says, "I am His, and He is mine." This is a reference to Song of Songs. To say that "I am my beloved's" does not mean that He is the Master possessing us as His servants. It means that we are His love. This relationship is not that between master and slave, but the affectionate relationship between husband and wife. Song of Songs is the most romantic book ever written. Yet this book is concerned with the loving relationship between God and His chosen people. It presents a portrait of the married life of Christ and those who love Him.

Think about how precious you are to God, how much He loves you. He loves you to the extent that He is willing to let go of others so that He may have you for himself. Zechariah says that you are the apple of His eye. He who touches you touches the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:8)

You make such an important point, Marcie. We are inundated with messages that falsely define love. It is so misunderstood. When we gaze upon our Savior on the cross, this is a love that goes so far beyond any temporary, surface love we see flaunted before us in our world. Praying for more to receive this love like no other.

Take great comfort in knowing that God loves you with an everlasting love, and that his love forgives, protects, hopes, and rejoices in the truth. Be assured of his extravagant love and that he is always working in your life in love.

Last week, I met a few friends for lunch. One of them brought us friendship gifts. Mine is a little box filled with 101 Favorite Bible Verses for Women. The first one I pulled out was from Jeremiah 31:3. It is a reminder of God's everlasting love. He loves me. He loves you. He loves us with an everlasting love.

Sister in Christ, there is nothing you can do, nothing you can say, nothing you can think that will stop God from loving you. He is a just God, yes. He requires obedience but our shortcomings won't keep Him from loving us. He is the God who was, the God who is, and the God who always will be. He is the God who loved you yesterday, the God who loves you today, and the God who will love you for all your tomorrows.

Let's take a minute to look at one of the definitions above that I didn't mention in the last paragraph - wearisome, tedious. This doesn't mean that God grows weary from loving us or that loving us is too hard for him. It means He loves us through the hard stuff. He loves us when we are unlovable. He meets us where we are no matter how messy we become.

He loves us enough to send His only Son to bear the burden of our sin. We learn in John 3:16 that a relationship with Jesus is the only way to an eternity in Heaven but God loves us enough to have provided us a way to Him.

If you are a parent, could you imagine giving up a child in order to adopt another child who was your enemy at that time (Rom. 5:10)? The Father loves His Son with an eternal, glorious, perfect love! And by sending His Son to redeem His children from the wrath we deserve, we now have peace with God the Father through our union with His Son, Jesus Christ.

Matt became a joyful follower of Jesus at the age of 21. He is very grateful to be a husband to Lindsey, and a father to Jadon, Owen, and Weston. He is an ordained minister (teaching elder) in the PCA. He previously served as a pastor of biblical counseling and currently serves as a corporate chaplain in Richmond, VA. He's also on staff at Stony Point Church. Matt received his Master of Divinity degree in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and holds an advanced certification in biblical counseling from the Association of Biblical Counselors. In his free time, he loves playing with his boys, traveling with his wife, and reading (and buying!) books.

God is love and He created us out of love for everlasting friendship with Him. Being created in His image, man and women are given the vocation to love as God loves. But we are wounded and broken people and it is impossible to love as God loves. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross to save us from sin and death. He redeemed our brokenness and sent us the Holy Spirit and grace to be able to love as He does.

Loved your book ACH and would love the devotion to go along with it. ? I just recently finished an OBS with your book and felt as if I could have written a lot of your words. Thank you for sharing your story and writing such an encouraging book.

Ronee, your note touched my heart and meant so much tonight as I read it. Im thanking Jesus for the way He used your daughter to place this message in your hands. He loves you, you know? He wants to pursue you and hold you close through all you are going through. Im praying His promises sink deep into your heart and soul and chase those doubt, insecurities and depression away.

This is a simple example of the unending logical inferences God makes in the Scripture concerning His chosen ones. Because God is the LOGOS or LOGIC itself, He uses logic with absolute perfection, and when the content is about His chosen ones, it is both perfect and filled with hope and love.

Jesus promises us that if we love Him and keep His commandments, we will have a relationship with God. He will send the gift of His Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and be our ever-present guide and helper (Acts 2:38).

Remember that God loves you more than you can imagine. He created you to love Him and share His love with those around you. Be intentional about sharing His love every day and watch how He blesses it. e24fc04721
