JESUS LOVES ME was composed by William B. Bradbury for this text and published in his Sunday school song collection, The Golden Shower, in 1862. The tune is also called CHINA in some hymnals because it is reported to be a favorite among missionaries there. The tune is a simple, pentatonic one, and is widely known. It works best with simple accompaniment.

In the episode where the dean and Jeff sing in the mall together there's a scene with Britta an Shirley in the car, with hobo Jesus singing "Jesus loves marijuana". And I'm pretty sure I know the original song, but I can't remember it, and it's driving me crazy, I can't stop humming that song!

I learned the song early and I still sing it often (or I did, until recently), and, yes, it has always made me think of how much Jesus loves the little children of the world, in all their beautiful diversity.

For many of us these songs represent the earliest seeds of faith that were sown into our lives. It was through these songs that we learned that Jesus loves us, that the Bible was the Word of God and that Father Abraham had many sons. Many of the foundational principles of our faith were passed down to us by our beloved Sunday school teachers in the form of songs.

After a brief summit between my wife and I to discuss the social and moral implications of teaching a song loaded with racial undertones to our four-year-old, my wife saved the situation with a solution. We could always just change the lyrics!

In 1943 in the Solomon Islands, John F. Kennedy's PT-109 was rammed and sunk. Islanders Biuku Gasa and Eroni Kumana who found Kennedy and the survivors remember that when they rode on PT boats to retrieve the survivors, the Marines sang this song with the natives, who had learned it from Seventh-day Adventist missionaries.[7][8]

Boy George founded the band Jesus Loves You, as a collective project with other musicians, under his own label More Protein, which aimed to be an underground label and not meant to release music for the charts. George adopted the pseudonym "Angela Dust". "After the Love", the first song by Jesus Loves You that was released as a single, is about the separation from his ex-bandmate Jon Moss, drummer of Culture Club, and the two artists wrote it together.[1]

In December 1992, the release of the second album, Popularity Breeds Contempt, was planned.[4] The single "Sweet Toxic Love" (with "Am I Losing Control" as B-side) was pre-released, but the record company Virgin Records was so disappointed in the chart positions of the single that the album was not released. The remaining songs that were recorded for the album have since been released. The band dissolved a short time later.

Regular readers of these humble ramblings know that I have become a fan of bluegrass singer, songwriter, and producer Jerry Salley. His song about our mutual hometown of Chillicothe, Ohio still fills my heart with warm memories of my small town upbringing. I absolutely fell in love with his lyrical storytelling. We connected on a professional level and I sent him a couple of my books.

Good morning sweet holy spirit of God that made this song emerged from within me being 1/12/2023 as I sat in my class being a teacher , I had to Google this sweet song that talks about the love of God upon me and my family, even in the mist of mourning my hubby as I keeps thing of those tromatic experience I passed through while he was alive, as this song came to my mind I now remembered how grate is the love of God upon me , I don't have any other options than to sing the song loud and clear to the hearings of my learners , thank you Lord Jesus for your agape love.

Thanks! My daughter asks for this song all of the time. Have you ever thought of putting videos on the website. My daughter is constantly asking if we can watch the video to Tractor, Tractor. Your concert was a hit 3 months ago! ?

Here, the student started on the tritone substitution of C7 (F#7). When he resolves it to F, the listener is going to decide that the song is in the key of F. And because there is no other V-I cadence in these two lines, it is highly likely that the listener will never determine that the key is really C.

The second thing I want to point out is that the destination chords are changed. Every song has destinations (usually at the end of phrases) that everyone expects to hear in a familiar way. Typically, when you reharmonize, you change the path to the destination but you leave the destination chord intact. There is no rule that you should never change a destination chord, but it is generally accepted that those changes should be sparse in order to keep the integrity of the song intact.

Typically, both lines end on a I chord. Note that he has changed both of them. These changes also add to the confusion of what key the song is in, and they keep the listener from connecting with the familiarity of the song.

Anna and her older sister Susan turned to writing to generate income to sustain the family and their home in West Point. In 1860, Susan was writing her Say and Seal Christian novel. In one scene, she introduces a little boy named Johnny Fax. He had a very high fever. His Sunday School teacher, Mr. Linden, picked him up in his arms and paced the floor, trying to console him. Little Johnny Fax asked Mr. Linden to sing a song.

The added chorus by Bradbury, through repetitive, emphasizes the first two lines of Verse 1 in that Jesus loves us and that the Bible tells us so. Yet, the repetition does not bother me like it does other songs.

The lyrics make the claim that Jesus loves us and explains why He loves us in a way that even unbelievers can understand, even if they do not fully comprehend the deeper truths behind it. There is little doubt that those outside Christianity will interpret this song similar to Christ followers. It is an opportunity to present a soft Gospel to outsiders, inviting questions and listening to those who hurt and suffer. perhaps it will pique their interest to read the Bible for the first time!

The beauty of this song is it's pretty much the opposite of what you expect when you see the title. Although the lyrics are undoubtedly underpinned by faith and spirituality, the overriding emotion that colours the song is rage, as the protagonist comes face to face with a man in prison that broke into his family's home.

Because children often learn best through music and repetition, each of the five Preschool Curricula and two Bible Curricula feature a Bible Song of the Week to further enhance biblical learning. These carefully selected traditional songs are well-suited for young children as they are easy to grasp and hold strong theological truths. Videos are provided to teach the simple melodies and motions.

My sweet son (2 years old) has started singing this song every where we go. I love that I was able to teach him the whole song using this curriculum that his big sister is using for kindergarten. I knew only the first song as a kid, but now we sing the whole song together and he sings is it every day.

Jesus loves the little children

All the children of the world

Red, brown, yellow, black and white

They are precious in His sight

Jesus loves the little children of the world

Jesus loves the little children

All the children of the world

Every child in every land

Jesus holds them in His hand

Jesus loves the little children of the world

As they like to learn English songs, I am teaching them choruses to go along with each "C"'; for example I taught them "One Door and Only One (and Yet it's Sides are Two)" for "Catastrophe". For "Confusion" we are going to learn "Jesus Loves the Little Children. Since the words do not fit what the Bible says about people groups, and saying someone has "red" skin makes no sense to the people here (as in the line "red and yellow, black and white), I am teaching them . . . "Jesus loves the little children- - all the children of the world Shades of brown from dark to light -- all are precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world."Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Thank you for publishing the second alternate verse! I learned this as a child but had forgotten it. Today I was reading Matthew 19:13 and the song came to mind. I Googled the lyrics I remembered and came to your lovely web page. God bless you Sister!

In 1874 D. L. Moody and Major Daniel W. Whittle asked him to join them in full-time evangelistic work. From then until his death two years later, Bliss served with them as special singer and song leader.

Music sets the mood for every retreat. Because of this, I chose love songs that are upbeat and exciting and also songs that cause your heart to swell as you take in the magnitude of what it means to love Jesus and to be loved by Him.
