Project Description:
"Art Therapy is a form of therapy that encourages self-expression through art making". Design a poster to hang in a public place to teach people about art therapy. Provide references on a separate sheet. This assignment was conducted for my Developmental Psychology module in second year.
Problem Statement:
The objective of the poster is to promote awareness and understanding of art therapy as an effective and accessible form of therapeutic intervention. By doing so, the poster aims to empower individuals to recognize and utilize art therapy as a means to enhance their emotional well-being and mental health.
Learning Objectives:
Learning objectives for designing a poster about art therapy included; exploring the benefits of art therapy, recognising the inclusivity of art therapy, identifying art therapy modalities, and demonstrating art therapy techniques. This helped to provide a well-rounded education on art therapy, covering its foundational principles, practical applications, and the potential impact on individuals' mental health and well-being.
Learner Outcomes:
I created an engaging and inclusive poster on art therapy, tailored for both young children and adults. I explored the intersection of creativity and mental well-being, incorporating vibrant visuals and age-appropriate content.Â
I designed the poster to effectively convey the benefits of art therapy, highlighting its potential impact on emotional expression and overall mental health for diverse age groups. I emphasised a balance between visual appeal and informative content to captivate and educate my target audience on the transformative power of art in therapy.
