Dear JES Community,

Hello! I’m Laura, the new PIE president for this year.  For those of you who are new, welcome to JES! And to those returning, welcome back! Both my kiddos are at JES this year with my youngest starting kindergarten and my oldest entering 2nd grade. After a busy (and wet!) summer, we’re glad to be settling back into the school year routine.

The past few years, PIE has been focused on growing our membership and fundraising. We’re excited to start the year with all our leadership positions filled and some money in our bank account. So now we need YOU! Your ideas and your energy will help to move some larger projects from dreams to reality. 

We have a busy year planned with Fall Campus Clean Up Day, a Fall Harvest Festival, fundraisers, a *possible*  Artist in Residency and much more! We’d love to have you join us!

Our meetings fall on the first Wednesday of each month. We meet in the JES library with a virtual option available too!

• Sign up to join a committee - committees are where the real work happens. They meet outside of the monthly meetings and do most of the planning work for events, etc. Email the committee chair to be added.

• Sign up to volunteer for specific events - we will send out sign up information as needed for folks to help with events or to donate items.

I feel very lucky to be part of such an amazing community. But it's important to remember that community doesn’t just happen - it is CREATED by its members taking an active part in it. We hope to see you soon!
