In 2015, Dr. Sullivan served as the faculty sponsor for the Nixa High School Gay-Straight Alliance. Due to the club's work on anti-bullying campaigns at the local and state level, GLSEN honored the club with the National GSA of the Year Award at the 2015 Respect Awards.
