The Jeongeum Hangeul Education Alliance is a dedicated community of educators and activists united to restore the original creation principles of Hunminjeongeum. We believe Hangeul is more than a phonetic script; it is a perfect trinity of sound, shape, and meaning that mirrors the natural order. By moving beyond functional literacy to a deeper understanding of 'Jeongeum Hangeul,' we aim to expand human consciousness and explore the true essence of language. Join us in this journey of 'learning that changes the world,' rooted in the living spirit of our ancestors.
This lecture reveals the mystery of Hunminjeongeum, showing it as a philosophical masterpiece rather than just a phonetic script. Discover how King Sejong embedded the laws of nature—Yin-Yang, the Five Elements, and the I Ching—into the very shapes and sounds of Hangeul, creating a unique "featural" system that connects human language with the cosmic order.

Excuse Me, Which Way?
Put aside the heavy theories for a moment. Join us for a candid chat in the fresh air of Yangpyeong. We're looking for the "real path" in our everyday lives.
From global wars to the AI revolution, the "New Normal" is chaos. We discuss the collapse of old systems and the urgent need for a new spiritual worldview. In an age where logic is outsourced to machines, we explore the "real path" for humanity.

The Taegeuk at the center, depicted as a circle, represents the primordial seed of the cosmos. The central point, along with the horizontal and vertical lines, illustrate the forms of Cheon-Ji-In (Heaven-Earth-Man: ㆍ ㅡ ㅣ). These point-and-line forms constitute the fundamental framework of Jeongeum Hangeul vowels.
When Cheon-Ji-In—initially expressed as first and second dimensional point and lines—evolves into three-dimensional geometry, it becomes the set of geometric planes known as Won-Bang-Gak (Circle, Square, and Triangle: ○□△). This forms the fundamental framework of Jeongeum Hangeul consonants.
This sequential development from points and lines to the geometry of Won-Bang-Gak is itself a universal pattern that expresses the underlying order of the world common to all humanity. It is a geometric symbol possessing universality that transcends time and space.
The diagram integrates the principle of Taegeuk, Yin-Yang, Samjae (Heaven-Earth-Man), Sasang (the Four Phenomena), and Ohaeng (the Five Elements), which correspond to the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The six characters of Ha-neul-e-seo On Geul (Letters from Heaven) are arranged in alignment with Yukgi (the Six Energies). Through these layered correspondences, the diagram visualizes the "natural necessary origin of language."
The positions of the starting character '하' (Ha) and the following '늘' (Neul) indicate that Geum-Hwa-Gyo-Yeok (the Metal-Fire Exchange) occurs at the position of Mi-To (Central Earth). ('ㅎ' represents the glottal sound/Water, 'ㄴ' represents the lingual sound/Fire. The word 'Ha-neul' itself contains the meaning of Taegeuk.) This illustrates that the interaction of the heart and lungs in the human body produces breath and sound, while simultaneously implying that the Metal-Fire Exchange in nature is the process through which human consciousness arises.
The clockwise rotation of the character order symbolizes the forward progression of the seasons.
For the Taegeuk, we selected the traditional vertical depiction, aligned with the Solstices. (The horizontal form on the Korean flag, the Taegeukgi, also carries meaning when one understands that its archetype lies in the division of the solstices and equinoxes.) In this diagram, we have brought together and expressed both the Five Elements embedded in Hangeul and the Four Trigrams (Geon, Gon, Gam, Ri) of the Taegeukgi.
The large circle surrounding the Won-Bang-Gak is the boundless realm of Mugeuk (Limitless Void), and the blue signifies Spirit. The colors placed within the internal geometry are the Obangsaek (Five Traditional Colors).
Together with The Letter Diagram of Jeongeum Hangeul, which visualizes the creation principles presented in the book Hangeul, Letters from Heaven, the Genesis Diagram forms a pair that demonstrates the relationship between the principles of cosmic change and language. If the Letter Diagram shows the connection between phonemes and seasonal energies, the Genesis Diagram distills the principles of cosmic transformation that underlie those phenomena.
These principles possess universal value that can serve as a foundational interpretative framework not only for understanding Hangeul, but for appreciating all human writing systems. Thus, understanding Jeongeum Hangeul provides a pathway to approaching the "Spirit of Language."
