•  The Meaning of Script

Humanity has elevated its spirit through language. Language is the dwelling place of the soul and the foundation of our identity. For our nation, with its history spanning thousands of years, our spirit is expressed most fully through spoken and written language. Therefore, even during the harsh times of colonial rule, the national effort to preserve our living spirit by safeguarding our language never ceased. Today, we live upon the foundation of the blood, sweat, sacrifice, and dedication of these ancestors.

• The Status of Hangeul

Our script, Hangeul, is the greatest cultural heritage in human history.

1) The principles of character creation revealed in Hunminjeongeum elucidate the natural order by which energy is encapsulated in sound, showing how this connects even to the form of phonemes. This is the ultimate script revolution in that it reveals the trinity of the sound, the shape, and the meaning of language. Revealing the cosmic and natural origin of language explains the connecting order between sound and meaning; this allows us to become conscious of the "semantic quality of phonemes," thereby enabling the expansion of consciousness through language.

Along with this, just as the decimal system uses finite natural numbers to express infinity, Hangeul is the only script capable of transcribing infinite sounds through the combination of a necessary minimum of finite phonemes. It is the ultimate phonetic script, capable of representing the full spectrum of human speech.

• The Meaning of Disseminating 'Jeongeum Hangeul'

Modern 'Hangeul' uses 24 phonemes. Its system has changed from the original Hunminjeongeum, which began with 28 letters and possessed diverse notation methods. While we cannot deny the reality that our mother tongue's script was inevitably modified during the modernization process and is now established as a national standard, our national language, Hangeul, can only demonstrate its true value when we understand and use the creation principles of its root, Hunminjeongeum.

From this awareness, we have developed an educational approach grounded in the original design principles of Hunminjeongeum, which we call 'Jeongeum Hangeul'. The dissemination of 'Jeongeum Hangeul' will not only further enhance the global status and universal value of Hangeul but also serve as a cornerstone for understanding the relationship between language and consciousness. It will serve as a catalyst for deeper understanding of the world's languages.

• The Content and Form of the <Jeongeum Hangeul Education Alliance>

The term 'Jeongeum Hangeul' contains the purpose of "developing Hangeul by fully reviving the creation principles and the universal character of Hunminjeongeum." It also embodies the will to overcome the reality of current education, which uses Hangeul—humanity's greatest script—merely for its phonetic combination function, failing to utilize its true worth: the integration of both phonetic and semantic aspects. A comprehensive understanding of Hangeul's phonetic and semantic qualities will fundamentally change our perception and perspective on language, becoming a touchstone leading the development of cultural consciousness.

The <Alliance> is structured, as its name suggests, to aim for open exchange and collaborative partnership. Teachers and activists from all fields—ranging from public and alternative education to early childhood, elementary, youth, and adult education—have gathered, united by their shared passion for Jeongeum Hangeul. We believe that a deep understanding of the national language is not a problem for a specific age group alone; furthermore, practically realizing the cultural significance of Jeongeum Hangeul for humanity must be a task for all generations. With that passion, we aim to create a systematic opportunity for greater integration and convergence beyond the boundaries of our respective fields.

The <Alliance> will continue theoretical and practical work for the dissemination of Jeongeum Hangeul. On one hand, our activities will focus on establishing the status of Hangeul as a universal script and developing teaching methods for it; on the other hand, we will focus on regular publications and training courses to disseminate these findings.

Recalling the wish of Kim Gu—a leading figure in Korea's independence movement who envisioned a 'beautiful nation' grounded in culture rather than dominated by political or economic power—and engraving in our hearts that "Cultural Nation-Building" is the direction for all humanity, we solemnly reflect that cherishing and nurturing this precious new life called the <Jeongeum Hangeul Education Alliance> right here, right now, is our "Mandate of Heaven" (Ji-cheon-myeong).

The <Jeongeum Hangeul Education Alliance> is open to everyone who wishes to share this will. True knowledge exists for life, and our education will be "learning that changes the world."
