About

Jen O’Donnell is a Los Angeles based standup comedian and works as a creative executive in nonfiction entertainment. 

She began her career doing research and development for reality television shows and TV documentaries for networks like The Food Network, Bravo, HGTV, and the Discovery Channel. As the Senior Director of Development for several TV production companies, she was a key member of the development team who created shows for networks like Travel Channel, Oxygen, TruTV, Discovery+,  and TLC, most notably the pop culture sensation and award-winning medical reality show, “Dr. Pimple Popper.” 

Most recently, she worked as a creative executive at a tech startup co-founded by Mark Cuban, where she innovated, created, and produced live entertainment for a first-ever interactive streaming network. 

In 2016 she co-created “The Ladies Room,” a popular comedy show and brand that spotlights underrepresented voices in standup that was featured in LA Weekly, had a comedy club residency until 2020 and booked headliners seen on HBO, Netflix and Comedy Central.

 In 2019 she was selected as a “comedian to know” by actress Elizabeth Banks’ digital comedy studio, WhoHaha.

As an independent creator and writer, she's contributed to sites like Reductress, The Belladonna Comedy, and Whohaha’s Mouthy and has created and produced web series like The Internet According To Jen, Ask A Funny Woman and Mansplain On the Street. She also hosted and produced a comedic feminist podcast called Take Down The Patriarchy With Solange and Jen. 

On camera, she hosted Whohaha’s Tight 5 Funny Women To Watch, and co-hosted a comedic dating pilot for Lifetime

Jen has master's degree in screenwriting from California State University, Northridge and a bachelor's degree in Public Communications from Buffalo State University.
