2-Week Poetry Writing Unit

In this engaging two-week poetry writing unit, students are introduced to the foundations of poetry through fun, hands-on learning. In Week 1, students explore alliteration poetry, learning what it is and how to create their own using repeated beginning sounds. Through daily interactive activities, they practice writing alliterative poems while building confidence and creativity. In Week 2, students shift their focus to rhyming poetry, discovering how words can work together through rhyme. With continued practice and engaging lessons each day, students develop their ability to write their own rhyming poems, all while fostering a love for poetry and self-expression. Each Friday, students will complete an assessment to demonstrate their understanding of the weekly concepts and track their growth as young poets.
