No, parents drop their kids off and pick them up when class is finished. For safety reasons, any adult on campus needs to be livescanned. This is not only for safety purposes, but for compliance with homeschool charters. Campus gates will be locked for the duration of class. Parents are welcome to head to the coffee shop across the street, run errands, or simply enjoy a little break knowing their child is in good hands making lifelong memories.
Classes are listed under Jenny Brown Tutoring and Enrichment.
You will receive an invoice for either the full semester or monthly depending on how you'd like to pay. Payments can be made by cash, check, or card.
I always keep my phone and watch on me during class, so I’m immediately alerted to all calls and texts. Every parent has my number in case of emergencies. To minimize distractions and encourage full participation, I kindly ask that students leave personal electronics such as smartwatches and cell phones at home or turned off and stored in backpacks.
No, Manners in Motion is a semester-long course. It is designed as a cumulative, relationship-based class. Each week builds on the last, and students grow more comfortable practicing new skills together in a familiar group. This consistency is especially important when we’re working on social confidence, peer interactions, and public speaking.
Character Club offers more flexibility with month-to-month payment options. You can sign up for one month or halfway through a month, space permitting, as priority is given to students signed up with a semester spot.
The age cutoff is sixth grade; however, I love a good leadership opportunity! If you have an older sibling that is interested in working as a teacher's helper, please reach out.
Short answer, yes!
Manners in Motion will cover the same core material in both the Fall and Spring sessions. Priority enrollment in the Spring will be given to new families who haven’t yet had the opportunity to participate. That said, if your child loved the class and would like to take it again, they’re absolutely welcome to join us for another round!
Character Club will feature all-new monthly themes in the Spring. Families enrolled in the Fall will have the option to reserve their spot for the Spring session. While some favorite activities may return year to year, I enjoy keeping things fresh, so your child can take part each year and always experience something new!
At The Learning Grove, we’re all about joyful learning, curiosity, and connection! To help your child get the most out of their experience, we ask that families take a moment to review the following readiness guidelines. We understand that some days are smoother than others (for little ones and big ones), but in general, students should be able to:
Say goodbye to their grown-up and join in the fun
Show interest and willingness to participate in activities
Let us know if they need help or have a concern
Move from one activity to another with minimal support, even when things shift a little
Take part in group activities without needing constant one-on-one attention
Stay with the group and play safely without wandering off
Use the restroom, wash hands, and get dressed with independence
Work through challenges without using physical or hurtful language
Registration
To reserve your child’s place in class, we require a small, non-refundable annual registration fee in addition to tuition. Please wait to submit this payment until we’ve confirmed space availability. Enrollment is not guaranteed until the fee is received. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept charter funds for this portion of the enrollment process.
Payment
We accept charter funds as well as private pay. We are currently a vendor with South Sutter, Clarksville, Feather River, Cottonwood, Sutter Peak, and Horizon. If using charter funds, it is the parents' responsibility to make sure that Jenny Brown Tutoring and Enrichment has received your voucher before the first day of each semester.
Class Cancellation
If a class does not receive the minimum number of students needed for enrollment, Jenny Brown Tutoring and Enrichment reserves the right to cancel the class. In the event of an unplanned circumstance requiring a single day of classes to be canceled, we will send a notification to all families. Unexpectedly canceled classes will not be made up and are non-refundable.
Late Arrivals
We kindly ask that parents ensure students arrive to class on time. For campus safety, gates will be locked 15 minutes after drop-off. If you arrive late, you’ll need to contact the teacher to be let in, which can disrupt the flow of class activities. Thank you for helping us create a smooth and focused learning environment.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Please walk your child to the gate unless otherwise instructed. Please be prompt for pick-up, as we are not staffed to supervise students beyond class time. Please let Miss Jenny know if another adult will be picking up your child.
Health & Wellness
Please keep students home if they are showing signs of illness (fever, vomiting, cough, etc.).
Classroom Supplies
Most materials are provided, but we may occasionally ask families to contribute small items (e.g. craft supplies, snack ingredients, etc.). A backpack labeled with your child’s name is helpful for bringing home finished projects or handouts.
Clothing & Personal Items
Please send students in comfortable clothes they can move in and label water bottles, jackets, and other personal items to avoid confusion. We ask that students do not bring personal items or toys to class, as they can be distracting or misplaced. An exception is made during Character Club, where students are welcome to bring a book to read or a small card game to share during downtime.
Behavior Expectations
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, physical aggression, verbal threats, or any form of disrespectful behavior. All students are expected to treat their peers and instructors with kindness and respect. If any such behavior is observed, Jenny Brown Tutoring and Enrichment reserves the right to remove the student from class or the program entirely, without a refund. This ensures a safe and supportive environment for all learners and staff.
