Discussion Posts (4):
Each student will self-select a current event article on a non-profit local or international organization. Write a Discussion post, initiating a discussion, with your commentary on the design or management challenges and how to address them, as well as the implications to the international organization, its clients and/or partners. Indicate how the course readings have informed your perspective and what you might do differently. As a class, we will apply the concepts explored in the Discussion postings and discuss them in our class meetings. Participation is always determined by quality, not quantity of interaction.

The capstone project for the Nonprofit Management course requires students to design a comprehensive strategic plan for a nonprofit organization of their choice. Applying key organizational theories and principles of nonprofit management to a real-world nonprofit organization, the plan will address key aspects such as organizational structure, fundraising strategies and revenue generation, and program evaluation. Students will integrate concepts from course readings and case studies to develop sustainable solutions that promote the nonprofit's mission and goals. The project will include both a written plan and a presentation to a panel of peers and faculty. The final submission will demonstrate the students' ability to apply nonprofit management theories to real-world challenges. This plan will be used to pitch your organization for capital investment from sponsorship at our campus event, called Case Competitions in which your organization will be eligible for capital investment.
The Capstone project will be the cumulative culmination of all you have learned in this course and developed as a business proposal for your nonprofit organization.
Learners must submit a brief proposal of the desired project (one project per student). The proposal should be saved under Your
Agency’s Name Capstone Project Proposal and include:
The organization's background, mission, vision, and values
An overview of the project
Goals, timeline, and metrics for the project
