I am currently co-organizing the Directed Reading Program at UCSC with Mike Williams.
The Directed Reading Program (DRP) at UCSC is a quarterly program that pairs graduate students and undergraduate students to work on various mathematical topics.
At the end of each quarter, there is a Poster Session in which the DRP undergraduate students present their work.
I am currently co-organizing the Experiences in Mathematics Colloquium with Nariel Monteiro and Deewang Bhamidipati
A series of speakers (and participants) discussing their experiences navigating the math world, academia, and industry as members of underrepresented groups. Taken together, these sessions will be a conversation, presenting perspectives and hopefully creating dialogue.
I co-founded the UCSC Association for Women in Mathematics Chapter with Deewang Bhamidipati in Fall 2020.
I was the founding Chapter President of the AWM chapter at UCSC. Through this program, the Executive Committee:
Reinstated the Undergraduate Colloquium at UCSC
I co-organized the Undergraduate Colloquium at UCSC from March 2022-June 2023 with Malachi Alexander, Deewang Bhamidipati, and Jasmine Tom
Created Prelim Study Groups, a program designed to help graduate students prepare for the Graduate Preliminary Exams
I was an Algebra Study Leader in Winter 2022
Created EmpowHER Hour, a program that invites conversations about inequities in Mathematics and more generally in STEM.
Started AWM D.I.N.N.E.R.S. (Developing Intentional Non-Male Networks and Expanding Relationships), a program to build community amongst the women graduate students and faculty at UCSC.
I co-founded and co-organized the Mathematics Graduate Peer Support Program at UCSC with Deewang Bhamidipati, Ryan Pugh, and David Rubinstein.
In Fall 2021, Deewang Bhamidipati, Ryan Pugh, David Rubinstein, and I started the Mathematics Graduate Student Peer Support Program at UCSC in order to build community and foster growth in our department.
I co-organized the program from 2021 - 2025.
Currently, our program follows the following model:
Every first year graduate student gets put into a POD of 2-3 fellow first year students.
Each POD is assigned 1-2 peer mentors (senior graduate students).
Every quarter, the first year graduate students:
Meet at least two times in their PODs (small POD meetings)
Meet at least once in a large meeting amongst all PODS (large meetings)
We developed this program to highlight the diverse needs of first year graduate students while simeltaneously encouraging them to build a broader community network in the mathematics department.
In Spring 2022, I wrote a grant to expand the Head Teaching Assistant Role to include a mentorship component. I served as a Head Teaching Assistant from 2022 - 2025 in the Mathematics Department at UCSC with Sophie Aiken, Deewang Bhamidipati, & Amethyst Price.
In the Spring 2022, I successfully wrote a grant to get funding from the Teaching and Learning Center on campus to create 3 Head Teaching Assistant roles for the 2022-2023 school year in the mathematics department that focused explicitly on supporting the graduate students in the department by:
equitably determining the quarterly TA assignments
organizing the quarterly TA meeting
holding drop-in Head TA office hours
creating a repository of resources for graduate student TAs

Santa Cruz Math Teaching Circle
I am a current member of the Santa Cruz Math Teaching Circle. Once a month, various math and math education faculty, math graduate students, and local teachers gather to build community and discuss various skills that can be brought into the classroom. In January 2024, I led a presentation on various mathematical puzzles. In November 2025, I will lead a presentation on the Factor Game. Please contact me for more information about my presentation and/or access to my slides.
Expanding Your Horizons
In the Fall of 2023, Sophie Aiken and I co-led a workshop called "Knot What I Expected!" at the Expanding Your Horizons Event for over 300 girls in grades 5 - 10. We introduced the girls to various topics in Knot Theory and were excited to meet so many mathematicians!
In the Fall of 2024, Sophie Aiken, Deewang Bhamidipati, and I co-led a workshop called "Secret Agents: Crack the Code, Change the World!" at the Expanding Your Horizons Event for over 300 girls in grades 5 - 10. We shared some of the history of women's roles in cryptography, introduced the girls to various types of ciphers, and helped students create their own code books to share their knowledge with their friends and families.

AAUW Tech Trek 2025
In the Summer of 2025, Sophie Aiken and I co-lead a workshop called "Secret Agents: Crack the Code, Change the World!" at the AAUW Tech Trek event at UCSC. We shared some of the history of women's roles in cryptography, introduced the girls to various types of ciphers, and helped students create their own code books to share their knowledge with their friends and families.
STEAM Expo 2024
I was a volunteer at the 2024 Santa Cruz County STEAM Expo and led a booth on the Julia Robinson Math Festival Activity Domino Dissection. This was an incredible event that allowed me to connect with various students in the community. I am already looking forward to next year!
STEAM Fest 2024
I volunteered with Sophie Aiken and Deewang Bhamidipati at the 2024 STEAM Fest put on by the Golden State Warriors. Together, we led a math booth and introduced students to various Julia Robinson Math Festival activities. According to the Warriors, they estimated that approximately 10,000 people attended the event.
Santa Cruz Math Circle
In the Fall of 2024, I ran a Math Circle activity for 6th and 7th graders on the topic of Magic Squares in the Santa Cruz Math Circle. Students worked together to determine different properties of magic squares.
