The Brief
This project was completed as part of my coursework for "ENC3252: Writing for Strategic Communication". In the assignment, our task was to take an audience through an on-campus area that was familiar to us.
The Game Plan
As a Digital Arts and Sciences student, I decided to focus on highlighting the unique features of the Norman area in Gainesville. Leveraging the popularity of Google Sites as a platform, the campaign aims to provide a visually appealing and informative experience for prospective students. By strategically mapping out a Gator Walk, the project intends to guide students to key locations and foster a sense of connection with the area.
The Content
The content of the project revolves around immersive media captured through photos and videos showcasing various landmarks and attractions within the Rawlings and Norman areas. Starting from the Rawlings bus stop and proceeding through notable spots such as Rawlings Market, Broward Dining, the Graffiti Tunnel, Norman Hall, the Digital Worlds Institute Building, and the giant oak tree near the Norman Education Library, the project aims to capture the essence of the area. Each location serves as a point of interest, providing students with insights into the vibrant culture and resources available on-campus.
The Visuals
Visual representations are integral to the project, serving as a means to convey the envisioned experience to the audience. Visuals included images and video clips depicting the journey along the Gator Walk, showcasing the beauty and diversity of the Norman area. These visuals help articulate the creative and inspiring theme of the project, enticing artsy students to explore the area and engage with the content. Additionally, accompanying descriptions and narratives will complement the visuals, providing context and enhancing the overall storytelling aspect of the campaign.
