I set up quite a few goals for myself in my English 100 class. As a future filmmaker, I am very interested in screenwriting, directing, and producing. To develop my screenwriting and directing skills, I would like to learn research strategies, as research is one of the main parts of creating a story. You have to know your topic very well, therefore proper research is a must if you want your film to be successful. I am sure that learning proper research strategies will make me much more organized and will positively influence my work habits. In the future, I would like to focus on film producing, as well. It is crucial for every producer to be as clear as possible. Your presentations have to be short, to the point, and, at the same time, very organized. Plus, as a producer, you have to grab the attention of your audience right from the beginning. Therefore, my other goal that I will try to achieve in my English 100 class is to learn to organize my thoughts and to write very clearly. At the same time, my writing has to be extremely captivating. This is my other goal for this class.
The biggest struggle I face when I write is organizing my thoughts. All the thoughts coming out on paper are very chaotic and they don’t have much flow. It takes me a very long time to put them together in the right order, so what I am trying to say would actually make sense. I am very self-motivated, and that’s why I start all my assignments very early. That gives me longer time to work on them and do my absolutely best to succeed in the class.
