My teaching philosophy is grounded in a social constructivist view of learning, which emphasizes authentic experiences, collaboration, and reflection. I believe that students learn most effectively when they actively engage with real-world problems, work collaboratively with peers, and reflect critically on their learning process.
Drawing from years of classroom and professional experience, I continuously refine my teaching to create authentic, learner-centered environments that prepare students for rapidly changing workplaces. I design classroom activities that strengthen students’ critical thinking, writing, and problem-solving skills—essential competencies for success in both academic and professional settings.
To support student learning, I provide examples, models, and other forms of scaffolding that help bridge theory and practice. I particularly value team-based projects, where students collaborate to achieve shared goals while developing communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Through these experiences, students learn to become both effective team members and capable leaders—skills that are transferable to roles in education, business, and academia alike.
My teaching approach is also shaped by my background in the corporate sector, where I gained extensive experience in training and public communication. As a Business Market Consultant at Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) and a Financial Securities Clerk at HSBC Bank, I developed consulting reports and delivered presentations for clients in the cosmetics industry, including Amorepacific, Johnson & Johnson, and L’Oréal. I also created and delivered training sessions on statistical software and panel data analysis for new employees and clients.
These professional experiences deepened my understanding of adult learning and the importance of connecting theory with practice. Whether teaching undergraduate or graduate students, I aim to cultivate an environment where learners apply concepts to solve real-world challenges, engage meaningfully with peers, and develop the intellectual curiosity and confidence to continue learning long after the course ends.

Overall, I really enjoyed this course and learned a lot. I look forward to using the knowledge I have gained in this course in my future classroom. The discussions were engaging, and all of the assignments and activities were creative. I would definitely recommend this course, especially with Dr. Park.
I have really enjoyed this course overall. I believe you were an amazing instructor and were very easy to reach. Overall I loved this course and your teaching! Thank you!
I enjoyed this course! I liked how the topics could be applied to the classroom and how we were able to use what we had learned for the project and explore the topics in the badge assignments. I felt that I learned the most from these and really enjoyed being able to do these. Also, I liked the variety of topics in this course. I felt that I learned about a variety of very useful things for my future career.
Dr. Park is an excellent instructor who provided a wonderful learning experience. We received beneficial resources in multiple formats and had creative assignments/projects that gave us the opportunity to exercise what we learned. Dr. Park kept us well informed with weekly updates and feedback. She also responded to my inquiries very quickly. I very much enjoyed this class and have already applied much of what I have learned to my classroom.
I really enjoyed the hands-on aspect of this course, and the fact that we were able to create things that could actually be used in my teaching. Dr. Park was always responsive when I reached out with questions, and it was clear that she actually read the feedback we gave in reflections because she altered certain aspects of her instruction as a result of some of the comments made. I look forward to taking other courses taught by Dr. Park!
I like how this course had many real-world applications. I appreciated the different check points throughout the course and the way that you do discussion boards.
Absolutely loved this course as well as Dr. Park. Looking forward to hopefully taking any other courses she may be teaching besides this one.
Dr. Park provided me with numerous tools that I will be able to implement in my instruction and classroom. I appreciate the badges that we earned throughout the course, those are proofs of experience that I can use forever. Overall, I learned a ton and I had fun while learning. Thanks to Dr. Park!
This was my second time taking this course. The first time I took this course with another professor I had to drop it because I could not relate to the content. I was worried about taking it this summer, especially with it being 4.5 weeks long. However, this was a great course! Dr. Park was fantastic and I would 100% recommend her time and time again. Thanks!!!
