What is a Community School?
Community schools are schools that develop and utilize partnerships to connect the school, students, families, and surrounding community to the resources needed in order to thrive. At its core, the community school strategy is deeply rooted in equity; it highlights the assets in traditionally underserved communities and leverages additional partnerships, ultimately providing students, families, and communities with essential services.

Community School Coordinator
A Community School Coordinator is the liaison or connecter of the school and community. We create, strengthen and maintain the bridge between the school and community. We facilitate and provide leadership for the collaborative process and development of services for children, families and community members within a school neighborhood.
I am excited to be working with Jenifer Elementary School. This will be my 6th year as a Community School Coordinator. This year we will be working to understand the needs within the community to build programing. I would like to thank you in advance for the work we will be doing together.
