In this project I will be reaserching and investigating how social media impacts people in everyday life.
You and social media are PRETTY INSEPARABLE
You might not be 100% addicted (yet!), but you definitely need to evaluate how much time you're spending scrolling on your social media accounts. It may not be making you happy. One study by Facebook of teen Instagram users in the US and UK found more than 40% of those who reported feeling “unattractive” said the feelings started when using Instagram. It's a good time to start thinking about decluttering your digital life through a social media and digital detox!
I chose this stastistic because I and anyone who owns a type of social media especially my generation uses it on. a daily. Even our phones can track how much time we spend on these apps and the numbers are getting higher each day. Especially when technology is getting more advanced and more addicting by day.
Many studies conducted that due to increase frequency in the human brain, multiple social media sites/apps have been linked to depression and anxiety. 13-17 year olds especially have had experienced to negative and poor online experiences. Because of this young teens and adults have been experiencing less social interactions and engangment as well as having a shorter attention span.
This assignment has taught me about how social media has impacted our lives. It as well has opened my eyes about how much we use social media and the after math of it and how to interact with it the proper way.
