Greetings! My name is Jean Muniz, and I am a senior at MSU Texas, double majoring in Finance and Management Information Systems. I am originally from Brasilia, Brazil, and studying abroad in the US has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I am currently part of the Redwine Honors Program, MSU Men's Tennis Team, and the Student Managed Investment Fund. Leadership, teamwork, communication and analytical skills, are some examples of amazing things that these organizations have taught me. I truly believe that by having a busy schedule with multiple organizations helps me stay productive, and make the most out of my time in college.
Currently, my short term goals are to get a full-time job after I graduate in May 2022, and win multiple championships with the tennis team in the Spring 2022. My long term goals are to learn as much as I can in a challenging job after graduation, and grow as a professional.
A fun fact about me is that when I was 15 years old I moved out of my house, in Brazil, to live all the way in Orlando FL, in order to pursue my dream as a tennis player. I struggled in the beggining without my family, and with the language barrier. But six years I see how much that decision helped me grow. I lived in Florida, South Carolina, and now I am currently in Texas. I have met lots of people, learned a new language, and matured a lot. If I had a chance I would go through it all over again!
I am blessed for all the opportunities I have had, and all the doors that tennis and academics have opened for me. And most importantly I am very grateful for all the people that helped and still help me on my journey, because it wouldn't be possible without them. Lastly, I hope to keep working on becoming a more impactful, knowledgeable, and mature person in my time at MSU Texas.
