During my volunteer experience at Mercy Medical Center Hospital, I provided critical support to physicians and healthcare professionals during a health fair. My responsibilities included setting up and cleaning up the event, which involved organizing booths, arranging medical supplies, and ensuring the venue was orderly. Additionally, I acted as a translator and guide, assisting non-English speaking visitors in communicating with healthcare providers and navigating the event. This role allowed me to facilitate better patient care and ensure that visitors received the necessary information and support.
During my volunteer work at the UC Merced Bone Marrow Drive, I played a key role in registering over 100 donors over two days. I collaborated closely with an AADP representative to educate the campus community through outreach and donor registration drives. My efforts included encouraging organization members to actively promote bone marrow registration. Additionally, I learned the proper technique for mouth swabbing, an essential step in the registration process. This experience not only enhanced my organizational and communication skills but also deepened my understanding of the importance of bone marrow donation in saving lives.

Hosted by San Jose State University
I had the opportunity of being a volunteer at the 2024 Bay Area Biomedical Device Conference. This conference is an annual event organized by the San Jose State University’s Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) chapter. This student-led conference served as a platform for fostering valuable connections between students and industry professionals. As a member of the logistics committee, I actively participated in various aspects of the conference. In addition to my primary responsibilities, I also lent my support to other committees throughout the event. Some of the tasks I undertook included assisting in the creation of the attendee booklet, guiding speakers and sponsors to the venue, and engaging in networking activities with conference attendees.
Participated in my first ever Hackathon at San Jose State University through the SJSU Spart Up for the Conference for Engineering Diversity (CED). The goal was to create a solution to address one of the 17 United Nation Sustainable goals.
