Simulations
Here are examples of numerical simulations from my results.
They arise from a code called Rivage that I am developing since 2017 during my research (see my PhD thesis for example). For now, it models nonlinear degenerate parabolic equations and is used mainly for flow in heterogeneous unsaturated porous media with Richards' equation. This code features:
Discontinuous Galerkin methods (IIPG, SIPG, NIPG, OBB method, global element method)
High-order with several polynomial basis for space and BDF methods for time
Local weak formulation with weighted penalization and flux
Adaptive mesh refinement driven by a posteriori indicators
Generalized mesh (hybrid, non-conforming, unstructured) in 2D
Integrated block-based meshing tool using a parent-child data structure
Implicit scheme with adaptive time stepping
Nonlinear solver based on Newston-Raphson scheme, fixed-point iteration, relaxation
Bardex II largescale experiment
BARDEX II experiments were performed in July 2012 at the Delta Flume in the Netherlands to characterize, under controlled laboratory conditions, the effect of groundwater flow on the hydro- and morphodynamics in a sand barrier.
