Educator Experience
As a writer and educator for almost thirty years, Jean is dedicated to learning-by-doing opportunities that develop real-life educational experiences, through community resources and collaboration. She’s led an agriculture non-profit, participated in a state selected agricultural fellowship program, written thousands of dollars of grants, and holds her Montana Career and Technical Educator's license with an Agriculture endorsement as a educator in the Red Lodge School District. She enjoys teaching at her junior high and high school in the media, careers, and resource department. Jean holds her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Masters of Science in Education from Colorado State University. Her love for teaching differentiation and inclusive options to extend educational experiences has been a component that is not only important in her daily teaching, but also near and dear to her heart as her children share in reading deficits. Because of their learning disabilities, a world of opportunities for extended alternatives to conventional educational processes has been revealed to her, which bridges learning processes, for all ages, into 21st Century Learning opportunities. She is passionate about sharing the many ways of learning with her readers, students and communities.
