Jean-Héon™ is pleased to announce the results of the Application of the Year category at the 2025 Jean-Héon™ Awards.
The Gold Joystick Award was given to Joystie™, an innovative cross-platform software designed to test and diagnose gamepads on Windows, GNU/Linux, macOS, and Android.
Developed with the Godot Engine, Joystie™ stands out for its broad compatibility, clean and intuitive interface, and universal approach to hardware diagnostics. It combines the joy.cpl (Windows) and SDL3 (Linux, macOS, Android) libraries to offer a comprehensive, simple, and reliable tool for both gamers and developers.
Joystie™ was born from a real need: to better understand gamepad behavior and cross-platform compatibility. It's our way of making a valuable contribution to independent game developers using Godot or the joy.cpl and SDL3 libraries. The Silver Joystick Award went to Canis Shieldo™, a mobile application available on Linux and ARM-based Android phones, designed to protect users from stray or aggressive dogs.
The application emits ultrasonic and deterrent sounds to keep dangerous dogs away without causing them pain, thus offering a simple and respectful solution for the safety of pedestrians and cyclists.
No Bronze Joystick Award was given this year, as there was no third application competing in this category.
These awards conclude the “applications” section of the Jean-Héon™ Awards 2025, an internal competition recognizing the group’s most outstanding creations in the fields of video games and software.
