Middle and High School Students looking for a place to belong

Jdub Youth Ministry is where we hope you find that place. We welcome all middle and high school students who want to explore a Christ centered life. A Christ centered life is one filled with faith, hope, and love. It is a life that does it best to follow the teachings of Jesus. It is also a life that offers grace when we fall short. We are supported by two amazing Churches John Wesley and St Andrew UMC both who believe they are called to minister to the youth and families in our community.

Sunday Night Youth Group - What to Expect

Most Sunday nights during the school year we meet from 5-7pm in the gym at John Wesley UMC. (At John Wesley the gtm is sometimes refered to as the LMR "Leisure Ministry Room the door we enter is in the parking lot off ).

5-6pm - Open gym and snack dinner (This is a time to connect and play half court basketball, 9 square in the air, circle volleball passing, and we offer a snack meal at no cost.)

6-7pm - Programing (This is a time of group and up front games, the message, and small groups.)

The message - a speaker each week talks about living a Christ centered life. The message is rooted in scripture but used life eamples of how to apply the scipture to life.

Small Groups - Are a time to meet with youth usally in the same grade as you. It is a time to talk about your high and lows from the week and challenge each other to live a Christian life and remind each other that God always offers Grace.

Sunday Morning Groups

Sunday morning from 9:45-10:45 we offer a bible study. The high school youth study a chapter of the bible. Each week they discuss what parts of the chapter they liked, what parts were confusing, and what parts challenge them to live differently. The middle school youth use a youth ciriculum from Live Group Publishing called Jr. High. Where they study a wide range of topics from scripture.

Mission Trips

Our summer is packed with mission trips. These are an opptunity to discover why Christ calls us to serve others. Most youth say that mission trips are the places where they are transformed. The trips are designed to get youth out of thier comfort zone and foucus on living with a servant's heart. Our summer is called the "Servant Tour" some of our stops include:

Salkehatchie Summer Service Project - an oppurtunity for youth 14 years and older to do home repair for those in need. The camps take place all over the state. Youth learn that they are caplable of repairing floors, fixing the pipes, and some even learn to roof.

Bechwarmers - middle school youth travel to a city with a MLB team and help with a service project in the same city. This project foucuses on the fact that we never know when God is going to call on us and that we always need to be prepared. Just like the players on the bench are ready for when the coach calls them into the game.

Intrenation Mission Trip (Every Other Year) - One years that end in an odd number we take a group of youth out of the country to see how God is impacting the world. We partner with other Chirstian orgainzations to help with needs in the country. Youth learn about similarities and differences we share. Most of the time youth discover that true faith is beleieving your needs will be provided by God.
