JALPAIGURI DISTRICT PHOTOGRAPHIC ASSOCIATION has registered  under the West Bengal  Societies Registration  Act xx61 of 1961.

The objects for which the society is established are :

1. To keep close relation among the members of the association and the people of Jalpaiguri for their welfare.

2. To through programs , workshops and action oriented groups assist the various programs of the photographer.

3. To take up and handle the problem of the members, photographer, workers, clients and local people to try to solve such problems through discussion and negotiation.

4. To educate the members of the society in discharging  their duties and responsibilities.

5. To achieve a quality of life which  will promote a genuine sense of harmony and goodwill among the members and customers.

6. To carry on social activities  and functions for better and improvement of social and cultural life of the members, workers and clients.

7. To help the members in case of sickness , accidents and death of such members.

8. To establish and maintain a Bridhashram, Anath Ashram, library for the benefit of the members and also a fee reading room for the study of Indian Cultural.

9. To do all social welfare activities including public health and other development works with the permission from the legal authorities.

10. To do all such other things as may be deemed incidental or conductive to the attainment of the foregoing objects.

11. To promote self help groups for self employment centers and vocational schemes for the UN empowered sections and disabled persons to setting up training center.

12. To build up low cost and charitable health center / dispensaries / blood banks /ambulance with modern facility for the disadvantage. 

13. To carry on social activities and functions for better and improvement of social and cultural life of the members.

14. To assist / guide the members in getting pollution related problems form appropriate authority.

15. To encourage , aid , assist , organize or contribute to the execution of the community development and social welfare program , including rural development , urban growth , technical education,environment  quality etc.
