This project was created in collaboration with ViziGlow, a company specializing in retro-reflective paint solutions. The module was designed as a short, interactive demo to showcase the product's features and practical uses in an engaging format.
Before
After
ViziGlow was receiving an increasing number of low customer ratings for its retroreflective paint product. Analysis of recent reviews revealed two primary issues:
Customers lacked a clear understanding of how the product was intended to perform.
Many users were not achieving optimal results due to incorrect application techniques.
A review of ViziGlow’s website showed that while product information was available, it was dense, text-heavy, and difficult to navigate. Customers had to sift through multiple pages to find simple, actionable guidance.
To address this, I was tasked with designing an interactive learning experience that would help customers quickly access key product information, understand correct usage, and achieve better results, ultimately improving satisfaction and reducing negative reviews.
Before
After
To help customers use the product correctly and confidently, I designed an interactive tab-based learning module focused on product performance and application. When customers are informed and supported, the product is more likely to perform as intended, resulting in improved satisfaction and more positive reviews.
Collaborating closely with a Subject Matter Expert (SME), I learned that the retroreflective paint was ViziGlow’s most popular product, frequently used for home and craft projects. This insight helped shape the content focus of the module: practical, easy-to-follow application guidance and clear explanations of how the paint achieves its reflective effect.
After analyzing the company’s existing web content, I identified the key information customers were searching for and validated it with the SME. From there, I developed the tab interaction, allowing customers to navigate directly to the topics most relevant to their needs. This design approach supports self-directed learning and aligns with adult learning principles by promoting autonomy and reducing cognitive load.
This project was developed in Articulate Storyline 360, utilizing layers, states, triggers, and button sets to create an engaging and intuitive user experience. Instructional design principles guided the structure and flow of content to support clarity and engagement, while product research and visual design decisions ensured that the learning experience was both accurate and approachable for the target audience.
Key skills applied include:
Instructional design and content organization
Storyline 360 development and interaction design
Learner-centered design and usability
Collaboration with SMEs and stakeholder communication
The interactive module was well received by both the company and its customers. Since implementation, ViziGlow has reported a 16% decrease in negative reviews and an overall increase in positive product ratings across multiple retail platforms.
The company attributed this improvement to customers’ enhanced understanding of the product’s proper use and performance expectations, a direct reflection of the module’s impact.
