About Me

The turning point came when I led a school-wide professional development initiative. I attended a 3-day workshop on a 300+ page curriculum program, then had to distill it into a focused micro-course for both veteran teachers and newcomers. The challenge? Making it immediately applicable for the first week of school. That experience of transforming overwhelming content into clear, results-driven training lit a fire in me, and I knew instructional design was my path forward.

What I Bring to Instructional Design

My teaching background gives me a unique advantage in the ID field:

Deep Understanding of Learners: Six years in the classroom taught me how people actually learn—not just in theory, but in practice. I know how to design for diverse learning needs, anticipate challenges, and create experiences that stick.

Proven Facilitation Skills: I've delivered professional development to audiences ranging from first-year teachers to 20-year veterans, adapting my approach to meet learners where they are.

Results-Focused Design: As a teacher, everything I created had to work in real-world conditions with real learners. I bring that same practical, outcome-driven mindset to every training I design.

Strong Project Management: Managing a classroom of students, coordinating with parents and administrators, and juggling multiple initiatives taught me to prioritize, communicate effectively, and deliver on deadlines.

I believe great learning design is about simplification, not dumbing down. My goal is to take complex content and distill it into streamlined, learner-centered experiences that people can immediately apply. I'm passionate about:

What I'm Looking For

I'm actively seeking instructional designer roles where I can apply my teaching experience and growing technical skills to create meaningful learning solutions. I'm particularly interested in corporate L&D and EdTech environments, though I'm open to industries where I can make an impact.

I'm based in Orlando, Florida and open to in-person, hybrid, or remote opportunities. I'm also open to both full-time positions and contract work as I continue to build my portfolio and refine my craft.

Beyond the Desk

When I'm not designing learning experiences, you'll find me traveling, spending time with family and friends, crocheting, painting, tackling home improvement projects, or experimenting in the kitchen. I bring the same creative problem-solving energy to my hobbies as I do to instructional design. There's always something new to learn and create!
