Race Format 

• Racing will take place in 12 Laser Radial (ILCA 6) rigs which are provided by the regatta organisers. You do not need to bring your own boat, unless you are providing one of the 12 rigs. 

• A maximum of 40 entrants can enter the regatta. 

• The provisional group draw took place on 16th April and can be viewed on the page 'ENTRANTS & GROUPS'. Subsequent entries will be allocated to the groups with the least number of sailors. 

• The boats will be numbered 1-12, and a boat will be allocated to each sailor.

• All courses will be short, comprising a maximum of 2 upwind legs, and located as near as possible to the shore to allow spectating and facilitate quick changeover. Races should last no more than 10 minutes. 

• The starting sequence will be: 2 minute signal - 1 minute signal - GO.

• A general recall will be indicated by a double sound signal, and the starting sequence will restart ASAP. 

• An Individual recalls will be accompanied by a single sound signal and calling of the boat number.  Individual recalls can be exonerated by dipping the line or sailing around the ends of the line and restarting.

• The penalty for any infringement is a 360 turn.  

• There will be no protests. Where possible, an on-the-water jury will be in operation to assist with rules adherence.

• Competitors are reminded that as boats are borrowed, collisions must be avoided at all costs. Any dangerous sailing may result in race or regatta disqualification.

• Competitors are personally responsible for any damage to boats or equipment.  

GROUP STAGES

• Entrants are split into 3 groups (A-C), with a maximum of 13 in each group. 

• Each group will complete maximum 3 races to complete qualifying.

• Sailors will swap over boats at the conclusion of their group stage. 

• Points scoring will be 0.75 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd etc 

• A DSQ or PMS will receive points equal to the number of finishers + 1 point, regardless of the number of starters

• Tie breaks will be decided by best result in the final group race 

• Sailors ranking 1-8 in each group will qualify for the SEMI FINAL A & B. 

• Sailors ranking 8-13 will qualify for the REPECHARGE SEMI FINAL (SEMI FINAL C), also known as the SPACKERS LEAGUE.  

SEMI FINALS

• The MAIN SEMI FINALS finals will take place immediately after the conclusion of the group stages. Each Semi Final will comprise maximum 3 races, with tie breaks decided by the best result in the final race. 

• The top 5 sailors from each MAIN SEMI FINAL (A &B) will qualify for the FINAL.

• The REPECHARGE SEMI FINAL will consist of maximum 3 races, with the top 2 sailors qualifying for the final. 

FINALS

• The FINALS will take place immediately after the semi finals, comprising the 10 qualifying sailors. This will be 2 races (or 1 long race), with winner declared REGATTA CHAMPION.
