Guest Cottage

A one car garage was converted into this charming guest cottage which includes full kitchen, bath and an up-the-ladder sleeping loft. Since space was very limited a point was made to work closely with the client to design this home to be a fully functioning guest house that felt as light and spacious as possible. They were thrilled with the results and the cottagte has been a very good source of income on the vacation rental market.

Kitchen Remodel

The goal for this small bungalow's kitchen remodel was to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room to create a more open spacious feel. The refrigerator was moved into what was formerly the pantry and carefully selected cabinets created ample storage space. A kitchen peninsula was made from cabinets and the overhanging countertop added more seating space. The homeowners were delighted with how their kitchen opened up and became a place they could connect with guests.

Retreat Center Pavilion

The project goal for Bend of Ivy Lodge retreat center was to enclose a rustic 720 sq. ft. open air pavilion and build a 300 sq. ft. addition for a small kitchen, bathroom, sleeping room and storage. Six French doors were incorporated into the new walls for plenty of light and a wood stove was installed for heating and ambiance. In addition, 3 reading nooks were built and the space below was utilized to increase storage capacity. On the outside a metal roof was installed and a large wrap around deck and stairs were built to connect the pavilion to the beautiful pond area and buildings below.

Retreat Center Gate

This was another of many projects for Bend of Ivy Lodge. The fence and gate were built to create an aesthetically interesting observation and entry point to the pond area. The triangle shape over the gate tied into an Asian theme found throughout the property (observable above in the pavilion entryway roof design).

Kitchen Remodel

To open up this 1960's ranch kitchen, an existing opening was enlarged and larger windows were installed to let in more light and an expanded view of the back yard. New cabinets, countertops, flooring and a tile backsplash completely transformed the feel and functionality of this updated kitchen.
