Owner: McKenna's Sugar Time Bakery
McKenna Rhine's at-home bakery creates desserts for holidays and all sorts of different events, including parties, banquets, bridal showers, baby showers, weddings, and more! She shared that when COVID hit, life became different and difficult. In March 2020, after schools closed near the end of her sophomore year, she was not going to let her sadness take over. She took on an at-home job that allowed her to keep her mind off of the outside world that she couldn't go out and enjoy. She has always loved to bake and is obviously talented at it--she wanted to see where it could take her!
McKenna says the hardest thing about starting her own business was learning time management. She has figured out tips and tricks that have made running a bakery easier. Understanding what her time is worth, along with determining the prices that go with every item she sells was not an easy task. One tip that McKenna has for young entrepreneurs is to "make sure you are educated in the business world and make sure you are setting prices that are worth all of the time you’re putting into your work!"
