Students make sure you are logged in your Alvin ISD email when adding the google classroom!
In the curriculum area of Social Studies, students are expected to analyze multiple perspectives, recognize the impact of issues, and evaluate ways society has changed over time, both in positive and negative ways.
As teachers facilitate discussions about such issues, students are encouraged to use both primary and secondary sources to help understand multiple perspectives on issues, and to use objective tools in their analysis. Discussions on Social Studies topics are focused on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and are to be conducted in a manner respectful to all participants.
If you have any questions regarding topics in Social Studies, we encourage you to email or contact your student’s teacher, and to refer to the Social Studies TEKS developed by the Texas Education Agency.
