Teaching and Training

With experience in the field of teaching and marked skill in differentiated instruction and collaborative work environments, I feel my repertoire speaks for itself. Having educated children ages two to eighteen in varying capacities, I have become a passionate advocate for inclusivity and a practitioner of constructivism- specifically emotional awareness, improvisation, and connection in movement. In the studio, I employ a balance of standard and progressive methodology that allows me to practice culturally responsive teaching and administer dynamic instruction in order to meet the needs of my diverse students. As an instructor during the COVID-19 pandemic, I have also developed exponentially as an online educator.

Lejeune Dance Company

June 2024 - Present — Create lesson plans and choreography for classes ages three to thirteen as well as adults in dance styles including ballet, tap, musical theatre, acrobatics, and hip hop. Coach the mini performance team and attend local events.

Bethesda Conservatory of Dance

July 2021 - July 2023 — Create lesson plans and choreography for classes ages four to fifteen in dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, poms, and hip hop. Utilize props and implement respectful instructional methods while promoting high standards of excellence to create an integrative and joyful atmosphere. Dual role as administrative faculty wherein I create social media posts, plan events, facilitate studio engagement and function. Created new three-tiered system for requesting time off.

Stagedoor Manor

June 2015 - July 2018 — Produced dance choreography for eight full-scale theatre productions while coordinating with directors and music directors. Created lesson plans for workshop classes in dance styles including ballet, tap, commercial hip hop, and choreography. Auditioned and cast dance members for a master class and created a showcase performance. Gave feedback and improvements on quality of performance.

DanceMakers Inc.

August 2017 - January 2019 — Created lesson plans and dance recital choreography for classes ages two to twelve in dance styles including ballet, tap, musical theatre, and commercial hip hop. Devised dynamic instructional methods to foster engagement while maintaining rigid standards of excellence and improvement in studio. Coordinated dance performances while maintaining artistic vision and performance concepts.

AXIS Dance Company

January 2017 - June 2017 — Assisted with community engagement and outreach initiatives, coordinated 2017 tour, updated educational materials, assisted in planning of 2017 summer intensive, coordinated rehearsal schedules, managed dancers and ensured ADA regulations met offsite for performers with needs, coordinated project logistics and technical specifications with director, event hosts, and AXIS team members.
