Due to World war 1 it caused a labor shortage such as food prices doubling,crops were left to rot because there were none to tend them also there were no justice in southern court for African Americans . This caused many citizens from southerns towns decided to leave by hundreds to travel up north and back to there native lands for a better opportunity.During the journey many migrants traveled and crowded trains the worst things got in the south the more people migrated soon some community were left almost empty.There were many challenges as more moved into the north but at the end African Americans had more educational oppurnites and the freedom to vote .
