My current knowledge on the subject of geology is very minimal at the moment. I know that our planet is made up of layers, the 4th planet from the sun, it rotates around the sun once a year, we have one moon, our planet is 70% water, and our planet is in the perfect place to hold human life.
I feel fine about identifying dynamics about the Earth's interior and its relationship with Plate Tectonics and the formation of plate boundaries. Reconizing 20-30 of the most common earth minerals will be challenging but with a lot of high quality studying, it is possible. Classifying 3 major rocl types and their geological processes is learnable as well. I do have trouble fully understanding the concept of time in different aspects but I will try my best to understand geologic deep time and the geologic chart. Demonstate map scale and location will be okay.
My SMART goal for this class is to actually learn about the tectonic plates. The science behind why they move. More specificly, I want to learn about Pangea and the process it took for the plates to move that much over time. If this were a graded class my goal would to be just try my best and get a grade above a C
My goals for this semester are to actually study and stay on top of work so that I do not get behind. In order to grow in class this need to apply myself in class and especially out of class while doing homework or studying. Keeping a list of what I need to do for this class will help me a lot to stay in order and remember everything I have to do, all I need to do is work on focusing while completing those task. I actually think that ungrading classes are the best ways to set a class, however it is all up to the student on how much they will take from the class with the opertunity that the teacher is not using a percentage grade. The student can not take advantage of the teacher and slack off all semester but rather take time through out the whole semester to learn information at a self productive pace, to best set them up for success.

I feel good about my goals I feel like they are coming along well, I am relatively up to date on everything. In order to grow in class this need to apply myself in class and especially out of class while doing homework or studying. Keeping a list of what I need to do for this class will help me a lot to stay in order and remember everything I have to do, all I need to do is work on focusing while completing those task. These were my methods to staying on top of my work for this class. The methods I said I would use I actuallly use and they are working for me. I have missed 3 days so far this semester, which I think is reasonable. I also missed becuase I had the flu one of the day then the other 2 I was recovering from having my wisdom teeth pulled, and I did not get behind because of this class time missed either I caught up on my work really fast. I spend about 4 hours a week on this class, and yes I do feel it is enough. After class I like to spend 2 hours when I get home studying and working on homework and I feel like the 2 hours are very productive for me. Time management and personal accountablility has been where I have had the most practice while being enrolled in this course. I do not plan on changing much for the rest of the semester because everything has been going well. I feel like I have shown a lot of growth in my time managment, and my weaknesses are processing brand new information (lectures) in a reasonable time. My work right now would earn me a solid B letter grade, and no I have no other comments.
Over all I feel like this class went good for me. The semester went sort of like I planned it although I did not study as much as I planned, but I do feel like I did retain a lot of the information I learned in the class because I personally found the information interesting, also I think I retained it because there was not the stress of having to pack in learing in a short amount of time. I could take my time learing the information and actually getting it in my head rather than studying the night before and forgetting it after class the next day. So in a way I did meet my personal goals because I did study and I did retain information. The class was good for me I actually liked the material we learned about but at times it was hard because it was all new information because I have never taken a class like this, in highschool I took anatomy, bio, and physics instead of chem and a geology class they offered. So it was all new information but I liked it, so the semester went pretty good for me.

I know that our planet is made up of layers, the 4th planet from the sun, it rotates around the sun once a year, we have one moon, our planet is 70% water, and our planet is in the perfect place to hold human life. This was my knowlegde on the subject at the beginning of the semester.
My goals were to build good studying habbits, and learn to retain information. My personal goals were to learn about the process of tetonic plates. Although I did not build as good of studying habits as I hoped I still got a grip on it and I did learn to retain information. I did also learn about the process of tectonic plates which was one thing I was looking forward to learning about. A method I used to learn in this class was pay attention in class and take good notes, also I actually reviewed my notes after class and studied through out the week to get a better understanding of the information. I think this method worked very well for me. Outside of class time I usally spent about 6 hours either reviewing notes or watching videos about the subject to study.
I think I was pretty involved in the class, and I only missed I think 3 of the labs we turned in, but I did not just not turn them in I tried my best and answered what I could then turned them in. My attendance was good I think I missed about a week at the beginning of the semester brcause I got my wisdom teeth out but other than that I think I missed 3 days. I think I got a lot of practice with tectonic plates in this class, and out of all the topics we covered I think my basic knowledge is decent I believe I am at a good 101 level on the subject of geology. I am most proud of all the information I learned while in this class because I honestly came into this class blind. I personally think I deserve a B or C and I do think you would agree with me on my opinion.
