One of the standout moments in my career was being invited by British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) to write a script and participate in a video demonstration on how to use the hemodialysis Artis machine. BCIT is great place for learning, and this opportunity truly showcased their commitment to education. Although I wasn’t accustomed to being in front of the camera, it was an exciting chance to share my knowledge and help create an educational resource for training hemodialysis nurses. The BCIT media team did an incredible job bringing the vision to life, and I’m grateful for their expertise. This experience allowed me to blend technical knowledge with communication skills, and it was truly fulfilling to contribute to a project that supports learning and growth in the healthcare field.
Attending the forum was an incredible experience and an inspiring opportunity to listen to leaders shaping the future of healthcare in BC. Some of my favourite talks were on transformational leadership, the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare, strengthening connections with Indigenous communities, and addressing misinformation in the media. Each session sparked new ideas and reaffirmed my passion for advancing healthcare in the province.

One of the most rewarding experiences was being part of the team that helped open the new Kelowna Community Dialysis Unit. While the work was led by my visionary and dedicated Director, it was a privilege to be part of such an important project. The brand-new unit, with its thoughtful design, has made a real difference for the patients. It’s a much more comfortable and functional space, and the staff also absolutely love it.
