Fifteen Customer Service Techniques

1) Promptly greet all customers
    - Greet EVERY customer with kindness
2) Use appropriate icebreakers
      -  Try not to ask  personal questions
3) Compliment freely and sincerely
     - Compliment customers I see with kindness
4) Call customers by their name ( if known)
      - Say " ma'am" or " sir" before their name
5) Make and maintain eye contact with customers
      - Keep eye contact with customers when I am talking to them.
6) Ask for feedback
      - Ask the customers if there are any problems with our service.
7) Listen carefully
    - Maintain eye contact, be sincere, and "write" down their problems.
8) Use effective service vocabulary
    - Saying please, thank you or you're welcome when dealing with customers.

9) Smile freely and often
    - I will smile everywhere I go.
10)  Appropriately touch customers when possible.
     - I would rather not do this technique  just to avoid any conflict .
11)  Enjoy people and their diversity
    - I will respect everyone equally.
12) Have a good attitude about your work
    -  I will  put on a happy and friendly face everywhere I go.
13)  Keep  your workplace clean and attractive
     - I  will  clean my workplace  whenever I have the chance to do it
14) Dress and groom yourself appropriately
    - I will make sure I look neat and presentable at all times
15) Maintain a good body posture
     - I will always stand up straight and keep my back straight.


Chapter 1: Case Study

1. What strategies or techniques are used by the Lopesan hotels and resorts to provide excellent customer service?
- Lopez brings  the culture of the island to the guest instead of the guest having to go out and find it.
-  He pumps  scents out of his  air  conditioning to make his hotel smell nice.
-  He  provides amenities
-  The waiters deliver cooled cocktails to anyone waiting to check  in at the reception.
- He aims to make the guest feel as if the step into  a different planet. 
-  When the guest enters  their rooms, they will find that their tv's are on and is already turned into the correct language.
- If the guest orders their drinks on the key card, the waiters will already know their favorite tipple the next day.
- If the guest go to his hotel 3 times, they will be considered repeaters and they will be offered complimentary drinks and fruits.
- He ensures consistently high standards of customer service with 3500 employees and 12,000 beds in his Canary Island properties. 

2. Why is the Lopesan hotels and resorts unique and special? Name the things that they are doing that set them apart from their competition.
- He offers higher wages than their competitors in order to attract the best employees.
- He has special personnel responsibilities for service recovery when problems arise.
- They keep a tight rein on the architecture, interior design, culture and ambiance of the hotels, retaining as much Canary island heritage as possible.
-  He built jungle foliage, rivers, bridges, thatched roofs, bamboo furniture, animal pelts and woos- posted balconies which emulate the architecture in the rotunda style hotel.
- They promote cheap package deals
- Everywhere is very spacious like on the rooms and the public areas.
- By the pool, there are sunbeds available for the guest.
- He built several huge, high- class hotels in the resort taking over properties to revamp and reivent.
- It has 1250 rooms amidst opulent decor and lavish landscaping.
