Wrapped up the Spring 2025 semester with a group dinner of our research group to celebrate our accomplishments and the hard work of our graduate students.
I'm grateful for their dedication, not only to their individual research but also to supporting one another. Their collaboration, resilience, and commitment continue to move our work forward.
We also celebrated the graduation of Hussien Ahmed, who completed his MSc degree studying the strengthening of steel and concrete structures with CFRP rod panels. Hussein's work resulted in two journal papers, one is currently undergoing a 2nd round of reviews in a Q1 journal, and two conference papers accepted in the CICE 2025 conference. He will start his career as a structural engineer.
Missing from the meeting is Rana Hegg, who was recently awarded a scholarship from the PCI Midwest chapter. Congrats Rana!
Looking forward to what we’ll build together next!
