A brief history
I am originally from Pamplona, a town in the north of Spain/Basque Country where I received my Bachelor in Biology from the University of Navarra. However, always I have had an adventorous spirit that drove me to do my PhD in Czech Republic under the supervision of Francesco de Bello and Carlos P. Carmona, a postdoc in Ireland with Yvonne Buckley, in Sevilla at the EBD in Alonso-Herrera lab, now I work in the University of Seville.
As of now:
Trained as plant functional ecologist with great experience in experimental ecology and ecological epigenetics, my main research has been focus on the causes and consequences of intraspecific phenotypic variability in ecology and evolution with special interest on the transgenerational epigenetic inheritance. Moreover, I am also actively involved and interested in ecophysiology, with particular focus on root functional traits, as well as in community ecology and applied ecology.
Outside of research:
Traveling and discovering new countries are my great hobbies. Also, my love for nature and biology spans into my personal life. I enjoy hiking, climbing, and generally spending time outside. Apart of that, I'm a huge fan of cooking, board games, theatre and music (I play the viola). I'm a cheese connoisseur, vegetarian and LGBTQ advocate.
