Welcome! I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Politics at the City University of New York (CUNY). During my PhD, I have been a visiting researcher at the LSE and the EUI.
My research agenda investigates a critical aspect of democratization: the strategies and ultimate fates of the powerful elites from the former authoritarian regime. To do this, I am building a dataset covering the entire professional trajectory of the entire universe of authoritarian elites and their children in Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and Peru.
My research has been funded by a La Caixa Fellowship, a Graduate Assistant Fellowship at CUNY, and the Christa Altenstetter Award. My work has been published in Political Behavior, Research & Politics, Electoral Studies, Democratization, Political Studies, Journal of Elections, Public Opinions and Parties, and Acta Politica, among other journals. Additionally, I have published two books on the Spanish Transition to democracy, one awarded the Comillas Prize for the best historical book written in Spanish.
