The biggest factor contributing to the decreasing population of Javanese Cownose Ray's is overfishing due to residential and commercial demand. This is worse in several areas, such as China, the Philippians, and Taiwan.
No conservation efforts are currently underway for the Javanese Cownose Ray. Some coastal areas put a ban on Cownose Ray fishing to help raise the population back up. This bans last from anywhere from a few months to five years. No bans are currently active.
