Texas 4-H is the largest youth development program in Texas, helping young people build leadership, citizenship, and life skills through hands-on learning. It’s part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and is connected to the national 4-H network.
Members—typically ages 8 to 18—participate in projects based on their interests, such as agriculture, livestock, science, robotics, healthy living, public speaking, and community service. Youth can join local 4-H clubs, attend camps and contests, and show their projects at county and state fairs.
The program’s motto is “To Make the Best Better,” and its emblem—the four-leaf clover with an “H” on each leaf—represents Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, the four pillars of personal development that 4-H promotes.
Jasper County 4-H currently has five chartered clubs; Brookeland Wildcats 4-H, Kingdom Roots Academy 4-H, Bullseye 4-H, Kirbyville Wildcats 4-H, and Buna 4-H.
