Jasper is a travel planning app that helps users save places, organize travel ideas, build trips, view places on a map, and create realistic day-by-day itineraries.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and what choices you have. Depending on the features available in Jasper, some of the data types and services described below may not apply to every user or every version of the app.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
When you use Jasper, you may choose to provide:
- Trip names, destinations, dates, starting points, and travel preferences
- Saved places, Bucket List items, Trip Inbox items, notes, categories, and itinerary details
- Text, links, screenshots, or other content you add to the app
- Feedback, support messages, or other communications you send to us
- Account information, if account creation is available in the app
You are responsible for the information you choose to save in Jasper.
2. Location and Place Information
Jasper may collect or process location-related information when you:
- Search for places
- Save places to a trip or Bucket List
- View saved places on a map
- Use trip planning features based on geography
- Add a starting point or destination
- Allow location access on your device
This may include place names, addresses, city, country, latitude, longitude, Google Place IDs, categories, map pins, and related place metadata.
Jasper does not need continuous background location tracking for its core functionality. If location permission is requested, it will be used only for features that need it, such as showing nearby places or improving map-based planning.
You can control location permissions through your device settings.
3. Screenshots, Links, and Imported Content
Depending on the features available in Jasper, you may be able to import, paste, or add:
- Google Maps links
- Website links
- Travel notes
- Screenshots
- Text copied from other apps
- Recommendations from friends, articles, or other sources
If screenshot import, OCR, or similar extraction features are available, Jasper may process the content you provide to identify possible place names or travel-related information. The app may then try to match those places with real place data.
We do not recommend uploading sensitive documents such as passports, visa confirmations, financial documents, or private identification documents.
4. AI Features
Depending on the features available in Jasper, AI-assisted features may help you:
- Group saved places by area
- Suggest day assignments
- Identify overly packed days
- Suggest nearby places
- Organize imported text, links, or screenshots
- Generate trip planning suggestions
Information you submit for AI-assisted features is sent to our backend and processed using OpenAI's API, including GPT-4o and GPT-4o-mini models. OpenAI may process this information according to their own privacy policy and terms of service.
We aim to use AI as an assistant, not as a source of truth. Jasper is designed to verify places using real place data where possible, and unverified places may be marked for review.
Do not submit sensitive personal information to AI-assisted features unless you are comfortable with it being processed for that request.
5. Information Collected Automatically
Jasper does not currently use analytics or crash reporting tools. We do not automatically collect usage events, crash logs, or diagnostic data from within the app.
If we add analytics or crash reporting in a future version, we will update this policy and describe what is collected and why.
Limited technical information, such as app version or device type, may be received by our backend infrastructure, Cloudflare, as part of normal network requests. This is standard server-side logging and is not used to build profiles about individual users.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
If Jasper offers paid features, subscriptions, or Pro plans, purchases may be processed through Apple and/or a subscription management provider such as RevenueCat.
We do not receive your full payment card details. Payment processing is handled by Apple or the relevant payment provider.
We may receive limited purchase-related information, such as:
- Subscription status
- Product purchased
- Renewal or expiration status
- Trial eligibility
- Anonymous purchase identifiers
This information is used to unlock paid features and manage subscriptions.
7. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate Jasper
- Save and organize trips, places, notes, and Bucket List items
- Show places on maps and timelines
- Verify places using third-party place data
- Provide AI-assisted organization and planning features, where available
- Improve app performance and reliability
- Respond to support requests
- Manage subscriptions and paid features
- Detect bugs, abuse, fraud, or technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
8. Third-Party Services
Depending on the features available in Jasper, the app may use third-party services to provide core functionality. These may include:
- Apple: App Store purchases, device permissions, and platform services where applicable
- Google Places / Google Maps, to search, verify, and enrich place information
- OpenAI, to process AI-assisted trip organization, text extraction, and screenshot import features, including GPT-4o and GPT-4o-mini
- RevenueCat, subscription management and purchase tracking
- Cloudflare, backend hosting and API infrastructure
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies.
We try to share only the information needed to provide the relevant feature.
9. Data Sharing
We may share information:
- With service providers who help us operate Jasper
- When required by law, legal process, or government request
- To protect the rights, safety, or security of Jasper, our users, or others
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- With your consent or at your direction
We do not sell your saved places, trips, notes, or travel plans.
## 10. Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Some information may be stored locally on your device. Some information may be stored on our servers or with third-party service providers if needed to provide app functionality, AI processing, subscriptions, or support.
11. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide Jasper, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, improve the app, and enforce our agreements.
You may delete trips, saved places, notes, or other content from within the app where deletion features are available.

12. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information

Jasper is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country.

Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
