I'm Jason Tanner and I have a well regarded career in communications spanning many years from my early days as a radio broadcaster through to helping major organisations and charities with their marketing, media and public relations. I've worked for major established institutions including the BBC and the National Trust and I'm now a writer and communications consultant.
I built this very website -and I know it is useful for my various and varied enterprises - so if you'd like to establish something similar, that's professional, low-fuss and good value, then I'm happy to get you started for only £250.

You are buying the creation of a Google Site website (like mine) that you will be able to control, develop and expand for yourself in the future. This includes up to 7 hours of my time to consult, reseach and place text, images, logos or other materials on your site as well as get the initial 'technicals' sorted for you. Your individual needs may need to be tailored to suit, but the cost includes factors such as the research and securing of a unique, professional looking website address (domain) for up to a year and an associated bespoke email address if required. This package is for sites not involved in financial cash handling though I can quote for this separately if you are likley to need a transactions section or basic online 'shop' facility

Arrange a 30min - 1hour phone or video consultation, though you can also visit me if preferred, N17 9PJ. After this consultation, a 10% deposit (£25 for standard starter fee) is kindly asked for so that the new website drafting can proceed.
The starter website is for non-sales sites that are not undertaking financial transactions though it may be possible to incorporate this depending on your existing payment handling processes, if you have any. This can always be added on as well by you or me or others at a later date in the future or I can quote for setting this up separately to.
We'll discuss the purpose of your site and who the audience is and explore some of the Google Site designs / colours that might appeal
We'll discuss either creating a google account for you to manage the site from or whether you already have an appropriate google account to integrate with
We'll discuss what text you have and the titles of the key web pages/sections (up to 5 to start with - and up to one sub pages for each = or alternatively - up to10 pages in total - though 'less-is-often-more'. Typical web pages might include your Home Page (serves as an introduction), Latest News /Updates / Events/ Resources/ Publications/ Who we are? / How to Contact us? But none of this is set in stone and you may have your own vision you want to discuss. If you are not sute where to start then flick browse through this site to get an idea of what's possible.
To help you do your own planning, any web page should aim to have 500 to 1000 words or less. That's still a lot of words but does assume the information is divided into paragraphs & sections, ideally punctuated with any good images or free-use (non copyright fee) images that may be available on-line. For your starter site, aim for a maximum of 500 words per page-
We'll discuss what Jpeg images you have and whether you need want standard format documents such as pdfs or Word or Excel spread sheets embedded into and available to download from your website.
I'll incorporate and advise on some of the basic techniques used to try and boost your online presence (known as SEO - Dearch Engine Optimisation) if you want it to have a chance of appearing in search results and I'll introduce you to the Google Search Console that plays an important part in enabling this and monitoring your account
I will undertake circa 4 hours of design and setting the materials you have provided
Remaining time of the 7hrs allocated will be to submit up to two revised drafts with your stated changes before handing over the website with simpl emaintenace tips , though you can engage me for updates , expansion and developing the site periodically
If you don't have one and we feel it's needed, then I also allocate time researching and then securing a bespoke website addresses for you, known as the domain) and an associated email address if needed. These are purchased externally. Some domain names cost more than others. If your dream web address (domain) costs are being priced initially at more than £25 for the initial year (future years are usually needed on an annual repeat subscription basis) then you'll be advised and extra costs for this above £25 will be added on to your final invoice

If you've got a quick question or adjustment that you need help with and won't take up more than 5 mins of my time then I'll be happy to help for free but if you'd like something more involved then my rate for routine work is at a rate of £25 per hour. You can also work with other Google Site -literate consultants as you see fit.

This can vary a little and is partly goverened by the time aken to secure a bespoke domain name and then to pass it through the Internet's various systems that link computers globally. But if you were to present me with a clear vision or what you want on each page and already broken down into sections with illustations ( if wanted) then it can be a little as 3 days, Bu that also requires you to sign off drafts within an hour or two of receiving them and me having a clear diary though the reality of most peoples' world can be different. So I'd estimate 7 to 10 days to go live from the initial consultation - but this is not set in stone. It's certainly helpful to know of any pressing deadlines to get launched before we start.

YES - If I'm physically free to prioritise you. It's best to call me if your need is the same-day - 07941 433598. If you have an urgent need to get something on-line within an hour or two or even within minutes - then I can get a pre-prepared announcement, news item, presentation, film, document or presentation published online on a standalone site for people to access urgently or in an emergency, if appropriate, I can also host pre-prepared news announcements via Tanners News Agency on this site or via Independent Digital News hosted by DefendUK
I can organise an emergency website and holding website address (URL) using the Google Site technology, that you can either quote to people that need to know or integrate into existing websites controlled by you or others. It's best to call me to check I'm free to prioritise your needs and to confirm what is possible for the £250 flat fee. As a minimum, I'd be able to get a professional looking web page on-line if supplied with standard format information, images or footage you want published and a basic Google Site web address (known as a URL). A non Google Site / bespoke web address might be possible depending on the urgency though this can also be arranged at a later date if necessary. I can assist with managing this process and getting your information on-line. Once the urgency is past, you can think about next stages for what has been created, if indeed it's still needed.
