What You Can Expect From Me

• I will do my best to help you find and create opportunities that support your career goals, whether in academia, industry, or other paths.

• I will meet with you regularly, usually once/twice a month, to discuss your research progress, experiments, data, writing, and future plans. During our meetings, I will give you my full attention. I will try to keep meetings focused and efficient (usually around 0.5/1h). In return, please present your data clearly. 

• I will support you in preparing papers, applications, presentations, and other professional materials (I am happy to edit mature drafts).

• I will try to respond to your emails/messages within a reasonable time. If I do not reply within 1 days, please feel free to remind me.

• I will be understanding of family needs, travel, health, and personal well-being. Good research should be sustainable, and I am happy to work with you to make a reasonable plan.

What I Expect From You 

• Safety comes first🚨. You must understand and follow all relevant safety rules.

• All data should be carefully recorded, honestly analyzed, and clearly presented🚨.

• I do not strictly track office or lab hours⏳. You have flexibility, but I expect you to be in the lab/office/library as much as possible during normal working hours, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., unless you have classes, fieldwork, or personal commitments.

• Do not use LLMs at the beginning of problem-solving/paper writing. I expect you to challenge yourself and gradually become an independent expert in your research area. My hope is that one day you will know more than me (and anyone else in the world) in your specific topic🎉🎉🎉.
