Final Reflection

Class/Teacher Interaction

1. For what percent of our classes were you present for?

I would say I was in class for about 8o%. I believe I only missed about 5 classes.

2. When you think back to your presence in class, what percent of the classes were you actively participatory in? (ie. not on your phone, talking, sleeping, etc.)

My presence in the class was about 80% of the time. When I am in class, I always try to give my professors my full attention.

3. How many hours a week (on average), outside of class, did you study for/work on this class?

I would say I studied for this class for a good 9 hours a week. I would read the text and write my own notes.

4. How many times during the semester did you directly interact with me on an individual level? (ie. coming and asking questions, getting clarification, an inbox message, etc.)

I would say I interacted more with you during class than outside of class like emailing. I can say that I did not ask many questions, but I always liked the feedback that you gave if the whole class needed help.

5. How do you think that your participation with the class and me may have impacted your knowledge and growth in this class?

My knowledge did grow a lot, way more than I expected. When it was the beginning of the semester, I seriously thought I wasn’t going to understand any of the material. Thanks to your help, I am sharing my knowledge with my family and friends (I think they are annoyed with me)

Practice work

1. How many of the practice work assignments did you get a "complete" on?

I got 11 complete checkmarks on the practice work. If I am counting right.

2. How many of the practice work assignments did you get an "incomplete" on?

I got 2 incomplete practice work assignments.

3. How many of the practice work assignments did you not attempt?

I did attempt all the practice work assignments. I know that I lost one of them so that assignment is an incomplete one.

4. How many of the assignments that you did submit were submitted on time? (usually 1 week)

I would say 4 or 5 of them were submitted on time

5. When you look at those numbers above and your knowledge of topics, how do you think that your participation in the practice work impacted your knowledge?

My participation in the practice work did impact my knowledge a lot. It pushed me to understand and research the right answer. By doing that I was able to remember the topic more.

ePortfolio

1. How soon into the semester did you get your eportfolio url created and submitted to me?

When I first created my e-portfolio I submitted my URL on time. I believe it was that first week.

2. How many objectives did you get submitted and receive feedback on throughout the semester?

I honestly did not submit any objectives throughout the semester.

3. How many objectives did you complete within the last 3 weeks?

I completed at least half of the objectives within the last 3 weeks.

4. When you look at the answers above and your final product, how do you feel your e-portfolio turned out and the impact that the answers may have had on its quality?

I feel my e-portfolio turned out really well. knowing me I am a perfectionist, so my answer is always going to be it could’ve turned out better. As a perfectionist, it meets my standards. And the knowledge that I put into it I understand.

Overall class

1. When you look at the overall class, the entire semester, what are you most proud of accomplishing during your time in this course?

Overall, I am very proud of understanding the material. Like as I mentioned, in the beginning, I was doubting myself a lot, and look now I am sharing geology topics with family and friends. I am also very proud of my e-portfolio I was also doubting myself about that too.

2. When you look at the overall class, the entire semester, what is it that you most wish you could change or do differently?

I would change my time management. I feel towards the middle of the semester I did get lazy and lost control of my time.

3. When you look at the overall class, the entire semester, what final grade would you give yourself based on your current knowledge of the class objectives?

I would give myself a B, and this is coming from a straight-A student. I think a B is fair.

4. Do you think that your grade would match the grade I would give you? Why or why not?

I honestly don’t know; this part is what makes me nervous, and it doesn’t help that I doubt myself a lot. I am going, to be honest, and say yes. I understand the material and participated in group work. I know I worked hard to understand the material because I must teach the whole lesson to myself due to my learning style.

Final Thoughts

1. Any last thoughts/reflections/comments on your personal work/participation/growth in this class?

I really enjoyed the class, and I am sad that my other classes won’t be like this one. Out of my whole experience at RCC, I can say that your class was the best. I can’t wait to apply the concepts that I learned in your class to my future classroom. I am glad I took your class during my last year at RCC.
