Many of us envision a more loving and less suffering world, where, no matter what country, race, ethnicity, or beliefs, the needs of all are cared for; where, when another is suffering, all would want to help; and where peace, harmony, and Love would produce an environment where all can learn and grow.
Unfortunately, while we live in a world rich in diversity, the differences are often experienced with misunderstanding, fear, destructive ways, and wars.
This project of books and artworks seeks to bring more Love and peace into our world, and hence, less suffering. The project stems from my doctoral and post-doctoral research, for which I interviewed over 300 persons of varied backgrounds, from around our world, who had been singled out as exceptional in their caring responses to the suffering of others. Their thoughts, sentiments, and caring involvements will be shared in a three-volume book entitled "Voices Of The Heart Speaking Of Love", so as to inspire others.
The persons I interviewed expressed receiving so much, far more than what they believed they gave, and that once they started to caringly respond, their involvements grew as the resulting joy and fulfillment, they then experienced, also grew.
“I have certainly received more than I will ever be able to give.” I discovered in the "City Of Joy" that those who had apparently nothing seemed to have everything, because they still had the power to love, to share, to give, to worship, to help."
- Dominique Lapierre, France. Author "City Of Joy" (about India)
It is also hoped that the loving ways of those interviewed, from diverse backgrounds and countries will help to increase the realization that we do not have to look alike, live alike, or hold the same beliefs in order to respond lovingly to each other.
The art, poetry, and center part of this project also seek to express and inspire Love will be used to raise money for the publishing and distribution of the books freely, in the prisons and VA hospitals around our world, before general publication. Later, the art and poetry aspects of this project will also be used to raise money as a resource for those in need and to support the centers. The centers will be a place to unite, in unconditional, loving ways, with others, such as music, and the centers will be a place to exhibit the artwork for the purpose of healing our hearts.
