About This Site

This site is created for learners of Japanese to practice Japanese grammatical particles. The particles are one of the most difficult grammar items to learn, and even advanced learners can make mistakes on particles.

Research has shown that the acquisition of Japanese particles requires not only learners' understanding of functions of each particle, but also a good comprehension of Japanese sentences. In other words, in order to accurately use particles, you need to know Japanese grammar as well as vocabulary.

Learning particles can be a lengthy process. In this site, I have provided practice with simple vocabulary for beginner's level learners. In addition to a traditional cloze test type of practice, I have added a sentence completion type of practice where you choose the correct sentence ending. This is to develop your reading comprehension skills and an ability to predict what comes next in Japanese sentences.

Good luck with your learning!
